Dear Pollinator Club Members,
Thank you for being part of our community and for the care and curiosity you bring to what we grow and make. Each seasonal release is a snapshot of place and time, and we are glad to share these bottles with you. Your Fall wine club allocation includes:
2024 Tarren Pinot Noir – Named for the Welsh word for rocky knoll, Tarren Vineyard rests between 600 to 700 feet on south facing slopes in the Eola-Amity Hills, with rocky volcanic soils and steady coastal wind, it is proving to be one of the great new sites for Pinot Noir in the Willamette Valley. The first public release of Tarren Pinot Noir, this is a wine of real intensity and concentration, one that earns your attention with compelling pleasure rather than demanding eccentricity. Dark ruby in color, layered in blue, black and red fruits, with hints of cola and toasted oak. The texture is dense, having a savory richness that’s lush and lingering. Stony, iron-rich volcanic soil helps create the fine tannins and bright acidity even though the ample fruit seems to disguise this underlying structure. Enjoy now to 2040 if you are marking milestones, otherwise why wait?
2024 Mineral Springs Ranch Pinot Noir – Warm, even conditions carried the 2024 vintage through a smooth and steady season, building generous flavor and fine-grained tannins, with a well-timed harvest window that gave us room to pick with care. Where some vintages are wound tight, 2024 announces itself openly with captivating aromas that offer an energetic array of red fruit, raspberry and cherry, followed by blackberry bramble, sandstone earthiness, and the sage, rosemary, and hint of lavender that have become signatures of this place. Supple tannins give it a gentle grip, and lively acidity carries the fruit all the way to the finish. This is a truly benchmark vintage for our flagship vineyard, Mineral Springs Ranch. Enjoy now to 2044, peak drinking 2027 to 2037.
2022 Mineral Springs Brut Rosé – Few vintages test a grower’s patience the way 2022 did. A warm March brought an early bud break, only for a rare, severe frost in April to set the vines back several weeks. Fruitful secondary buds somehow survived, and a wet June followed by a warm July flowering gave us a surprisingly ample crop even if well behind schedule. A dry fall extended ripening until a rare October second summer graced us with the ripeness we needed. Crafted from 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, the wine shows its signature salmon hue, with aromas of red berries, grapefruit, rose petal, and fresh baked brioche. On the palate, fine bubbles carry strawberry, biscuits, and cream to a finish that is perfectly poised and ready to enjoy now. Aged three and a half years on the lees, with a dosage of 6 grams per liter and disgorged this past May. Enjoy now to 2030.
However this season finds you, these wines are sure to add to your table, cellar, and memories for years to come. Thank you, as ever, for being part of this journey with us.
