The longest day of the year has always meant something. The summer solstice carries weight that reaches far beyond the calendar, a moment that has stirred myth, marked ceremony, and oriented farmers for thousands of years. It is the high noon of the growing season, and those who work the land feel it in their bones.
For more than a decade, guests have gathered here to mark the solstice, to watch the light stretch across the hills, to sit together at long tables. This year, the gathering is intentionally intimate, so that the experience, and not the logistics, takes center stage.
The evening begins at 6:00 PM with wines poured across the property, music from D.J. Rev Shines, and the kind of unhurried wandering that only a summer evening on a working ranch allows. Local vendors and artisans will be on hand, along with rare pours from the library vault, wines that are rarely opened and never rushed.
At 7:00 PM, guests gather for a family-style dinner featuring produce from neighboring growers and lamb that grazed Mineral Springs Ranch. As the sun finally sets, the evening closes the way it always has beside the solstice bonfire, with dessert, coffee, and whatever good conversation the firelight invites.
This celebration is also the largest philanthropic event of the year. Ticket proceeds support YCAP, Yamhill Community Action Partnership, which operates the regional food bank, provides housing and energy assistance to families in need, and supports youth across Yamhill County. Additional tax-deductible donations to YCAP may be made through our website. At a time when food banks have never been more relied upon, every contribution helps.
